About the Tree
This year’s tree was donated by Mark Wiley. The Colorado Blue Spruce is local and roughly 45 feet tall. The citizen needed to remove the tree and opted to graciously donate it to serve as the Holiday Tree for the City of Boise.
Use after holidays: The tree is chipped up. These wood chips are turned into mulch at the Boise Community Forestry shop and this mulch is sold to the public. The mulch is great for garden beds or tree rings. Mulch is helpful because it adds organic matter to the soil over time and helps retain moisture in the soil. The larger wood we will save for either firewood or wood working. That is also available to the public.
Don’t miss other fun holiday events including Small Business Saturday, City Santa, and member events listed on the Downtown Boise events calendar.
