A company’s fate can be determined by a crisis or disaster. Keeping their communities, employees, and stakeholders informed while managing social and economic disruption are challenges some leaders encounter and they’re able to meet the moment and rise to the occasion. Other leaders struggle during difficult times of crisis or disaster — they don't communicate well, don't give accurate information, and don't follow through on their commitments.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Idaho Power rose to the challenge, literally keeping the lights on for critical infrastructure and more than 600,000 customers. Debra Leithauser, Vice President of Corporate Services and Communications for Idaho Power, will share lessons on leadership and discuss how effective public relations helped her company navigate a global pandemic crisis.
