Details
Join us for a four week (see attendance dates below) series to learn more about the language of accounting. Are you confused about your financial statements and accounting transactions? Does business accounting intimidate you? Join us as Boise State lecturer, JoAnn Wood, breaks down the language of accounting into an easy to understand series to help you understand the financial side of your business.
What we'll cover:
· Week 1 (June 8th): Understanding Financial Statements
When learning languages, you spend time conjugating verbs to form sentences. In accounting, you need to understand how to classify accounts to form financial statements. We will learn how to classify accounts to create an income statement and balance sheet.
· Week 2 (June 22nd): Accounting Transactions using the Teeter Totter Approach
Basic accounting transactions will be taught in a visual model to help you understand how accounting works.
· Week 3 (July 6th): Creating Financial Statements from Accounting Transactions
Accounting transactions from Week 2 will be put in to the financial statements
· Week 4 (July 20th): Reading the Financial Statement
We will practice skills learned in Week 2 and 3 to learn how to read the financial statements.
