Details
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. There are numerous supports throughout the Treasure Valley for you or a loved one who may be in an abusive relationship, those include:
- Ada County Victim Services Center
- WCA (www.wcaboise.org)
- Nampa Family Justice Center (www.cityofnampa.us/190/Nampa-Family-Justice-Center)
- Advocates Against Family Violence (www.aafvhope.org)
Dates to look out for this month include:
- Oct. 3rd as the ACVS Center hosts a "Taking Steps Against Domestic Violence" Walk. The walk will start at 1 p.m. outside of the Ada County Courthouse and end at the Ada County Victim Services Center. The public is invited to attend and wear your purple!
- Oct. 17th is Purple Thursday, which is a day to wear purple and raise awareness about domestic violence and preventing it in our community. Wear your purple and tag @acvscenter and @wca_boise in your purple photos!
