A Festival for the Fiber Arts
‘Ewe’ are invited into the Treasure Valley’s Fiber Arts Community!

The Twisted Ewe yarn shop and Idaho Wool Growers Association present the Fiber Frolic, taking place at JUMP as part of JUMP’s inaugural Flywheel Festival on Saturday, August 7th from 10-4. The day-long festival is a celebration of wool and sheep in Idaho with educational booths, wool product vendors, kids crafts, food trucks, music, and a community art installation.

After skipping a year in 2020, the Fiber Frolic is back to create an enriching educational and entertaining experience for folks who are unfamiliar with wool. From sheep to sweater, the booths at the Fiber Frolic showcase how wool is processed and transformed into sustainable clothes and products. Popular for children and families, this year the Fiber Frolic will host crafting workshops in weaving, crochet, and felted soap making. Sheep and alpacas will be present in the grass. Local vendors will have yarn and wooly gifts for sale.

Community Fiber Art Project: The Twisted Ewe will debut a large public art installation, created by the hands of K-12 students and senior citizens in the Treasure Valley! The Twisted Ewe has partnered with schools to promote the creativity and education of wool to students. Over 300 students have collaborated on this project during the spring semester, and will have a chance to view the surprise art installation at Jack’s Urban Meeting Place for the month of August. Families are invited to the Fiber Frolic to see the art installation and participate in the day-long activities.
