Details

August 26th is Women’s Equality Day, the day the 19th Amendment was ratified, officially recognizing the right to vote for many women – but not all.

Join Mayor Lauren McLean, members of City Council, the Arts & History Commission, and City staff for a proclamation signing from 9-9:30 a.m. on City Hall Plaza.

Following brief remarks, the public is invited to learn about the history of the 19th Amendment and women’s fight for equality through a traveling exhibit developed by the National Woman’s Party titled “Standing Together”. Enjoy the Suffrage Quilt public art by Stephanie Inman, participate in hands-on activities, and pick up a copy of the Little Book of Boise Suffrage.
