Exciting solo concert by acclaimed pianist/composer Gregory Taboloff as he debuts his first piano Sonata inspired by the classic tale of “Romeo and Juliet”. Hear the passion, conflict, tragic pathos of two star-crossed lovers. Plus masterworks by Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Schubert and Taboloff. Composer studied with John Adams (SF Conservatory) and Leon Fleisher (Johns Hopkins), competed at the Tchaikovsky and Queen Elisabeth competitions in Moscow and Brussels, performed for dignitaries English Prime Minister Edward Heath and Richard Dreyfus. His Carnegie Hall debut was greeted with rave reviews from NY Times critic Tim Page. Taboloff premiered an earlier neo-romantic work, a 3-movement Piano Concerto "The Mystic" at Walnut Creek’s Lesher for the Arts and at the SF Herbst Theater with SF Bay Area music critic Joseph Gold exclaiming "Give me (more) Taboloff". East Bay Times Harriet Ainsworth also wrote, “Bravos greet world premiere...before a wildly enthusiastic audience". www.gregorytaboloff.com
