FLYWHEEL FEST –
A home-grown party for our dear hootin’ Annie!
JUMP is hosting the 1st annual Flywheel Fest on August 7th. The festival is an opportunity to show off our amazing collection of over 100 tractors (50 on site at JUMP). But more than that, it marks the one-year countdown to our dear old Kerosene Annie’s departure. She is going on an adventure, a real trip of a lifetime! While all the other tractors are a bit…jealous, we still want to make sure Annie remembers that her home is here at JUMP. After traveling to Minnesota for the Rollag Western Minnesota Steam Thrashers reunion, presenting a Rumely exposition where many admirers will tell her how great she is, and how important she has been to the innovation of tractors over the years; we want Annie to come home to Boise. So, when she returns, we will have another party – even bigger than the one this year in August. Which is why this is the first annual event. It really is all about Annie!

Think of the Flywheel Fest as a Debutante Ball for tractors. Any Ball worth its weight needs a spread of food, good old-fashioned games, and great music.

Idaho Bluegrass Association
Bands from Idaho Bluegrass Association will be playing music from 11:00AM – 2:45PM the event in our Amphitheater. They will also have a jam session for you to bring your instrument and join in.

FIBER FROLIC
To make this party even more festive, the folks from Idaho Wool Growers Association and The Twisted Ewe are bringing sheep and alpacas, educational booths, wool product vendors.
As well as a community art installation to JUMP for a Fiber Frolic! Fiber Frolic showcases how wool is processed and transformed into sustainable clothes and products. Learn something new at the crafting workshops in weaving, crochet, knitting…even felted soap making. Local vendors will have yarn and wooly gifts for sale too!

Community Fiber Art Project: The Twisted Ewe will debut a large public art installation, created by the hands of K-12 students and senior citizens in the Treasure Valley! The Twisted Ewe has partnered with schools to promote the creativity and education of wool to students. Over 300 students have collaborated on this project during the spring semester and will have a chance to view the surprise art installation at JUMP during the whole month of August.

Food Trucks, Cider Flights and a Tap Take-over in the Beer Garden: Mother Earth Brewery and Proletariat Wine will be taking over the JUMP taps to share their latest brew.
Meriweather Cider is serving a special press of cider called “Flywheel Flights” for those 21 and older.

Food trucks from Potato Boi and Slay the Snow -All Natural Shaved Ice will be on site.

Boise Urban Gardens will be in our Share Studio with samples and food demonstrations.

Games and Family Fun: A mashed potato pool, grape stomping, pie-eating contests, and more are among the activities we have planned. And don’t miss the wool crafting opportunities including felt crafting, crochet, knitting and weaving.

Mammoth Sunflower Challenge: If you participated in our Mammoth Sunflower Challenge beginning in May, you are in luck! Winners in each of the 5 categories, Tallest Sunflower, Largest Head, Prettiest, Ugliest, and Most Unusual will be named.
Don’t forget to submit your sunflower photos for the contest by July 30th to marketing@jumpboise.org. one winner in each category will be awarded with a fabulous party for 5 guests. As if that wasn’t enough, the winners will all have command of the Flywheel Festival stage when accepting their prestigious awards.
