World Cyanotype Day is coming to Lenses & Brushes!

On Saturday, September 26, we’re joining artists and photographers around the world for a full day of cyanotype making.

Drop in anytime from 11 AM–4 PM to watch demonstrations, experiment with this beautiful historic photographic process, and help us create a collaborative community artwork.

11:30 AM | Pressed Flowers & Botanicals

Create delicate images using flowers, leaves, grasses, and natural objects.

1:00 PM | Photographs + Transparencies

See how photographs can be transformed into cyanotypes using digital negatives printed on transparency film.

2:30 PM | Cutouts + Stencils

Explore shape, pattern, lettering, layering, and bold graphic compositions.

💙 Add Your Piece to Our Community Cyanotype

Everyone is invited to create a small 5×7 cyanotype that will become part of one larger collaborative artwork — free of charge.

Bring something from home if you’d like: a pressed flower, leaf, piece of lace, stencil, or another small flat object with an interesting shape or personal meaning.

Want to make something to take home, too? Optional paper and fabric cyanotype projects will be available throughout the day. Optional take-home projects: $8 mini / $12 print / $18–20 fabric / $25 all-day pass

Admission + demonstrations + community art project are FREE.
