Art Source Gallery is proud to showcase wood sculpture by Gary Holt Peer in June. Opening reception June 3, 6-9 pm, with music by JB Duo and wine by Indian Creek Winery. Gary’s work features smooth finely polished surfaces interrupted with openings that reveal roughness hidden within.

“I am interested in contrast,” says Peer, and his sculptures emphasize the difference between order/chaos, space/emptiness, geometric/organic. “In a time when technology presents increasingly synthetic material and the art world demands shock value, I believe the aesthetic significance of a living medium for my art is still a virtue,” he says. “While my work appears abstract, it is actually quite representational from a conceptual standpoint. It represents the logical order of things; i.e., the steady decay of all systems over time.”
