Details
This watercolor landscape session focuses on capturing atmosphere, light, and a sense of place through expressive and layered painting techniques. Rather than aiming for exact realism, students will explore how sky, light, and simplified landforms work together to create mood and movement within a landscape.
Through guided instruction, you’ll learn watercolor techniques for painting skies, soft transitions, distant forms, and foreground elements. The class emphasizes working in layers, understanding value, and using color to suggest depth and space. Students will also explore composition and how to lead the viewer’s eye through a landscape using light and contrast.
This class is ideal for beginners and intermediate painters who want to explore landscape painting in a relaxed, approachable way. Whether inspired by real locations or imagined spaces, students are encouraged to interpret place through color, gesture, and personal expression.
All supplies are included, and each participant will leave with a completed landscape or a strong foundation for continued exploration.
