Ahead of the release of his new album Possession, out May 30th, multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter Ty Segall brings his solo acoustic tour to the Shrine. You might know Ty from songs like ‘My Lady’s on Fire’, his 16th (now almost 17th) album, or his time with Fuzz alongside Chad Ubovich and Charles Moothart. Ty is known for his noisy, garagey, heavy metal-inspired psych rock, always with a tinge of soul and wicked funky lyrical ballads. Possession’s new tracks all feature American stories, including one about the Salem Witch Trials. Always experimenting and “scratching different itches,” 2024’s Love Rudiments featured Ty on drums for the duration of the fully instrumental album. Featuring new songs from the upcoming Possession, this acoustic set has been evolving for years and years. Supporting him is long-time Ty Segall Band member, Mikal Cronin. TLDR; Ty’s acoustic set certainly won’t be a quiet or mellow one, we promise. Don’t miss it.
