Live, original music at the Barbarian Brewing Downtown Taproom from 7-9pm, Friday June 25.

The year was 2020: It was a chilly early-fall evening, and the notion of winter approaching brought the members of the wagon party to a fire where they discussed which route they'd be taking to get to the Promised Land in Oregon's fertile Dispensary Valley. That next morning, the Chuckwagons broke away from their trail-blazing partners, the Aldape Bootstompers, in a peaceful yet purposeful protest. The Chuckwagons sought more jangly guitar strumming, tasty Tele twang, and uplifting vintage psychedelic arrangements — a style, historians argue to this day, was much too scandalous for the Bootstompers. The two pioneer parties went their separate ways at a fork in the Boise River at what is now Boise City, Idaho.
