Story Story Night is partnering with Leta Harris Neustaedter to feature storytellers from her radio show "The Lovely Afro." Leta selected from 65 interviews to invite ten honored guests from The Lovely Afro radio show for an evening of dynamic stories and music. Each will share a short story live representing diverse experiences from within the Black and Brown communities around our summer theme of "The American Dreams." In addition to hosting the show, Leta will also be augmenting these stories with live underscoring.
Leta created "The Lovely Afro" in order to highlight Black and Brown voices, to share their stories, and their struggles and triumphs. This started as a radio show celebrating and elevating the melanated in the Treasure Valley and beyond and is relaunching as a podcast.
