Laurie Asahara, Art Source Featured Artist for September 2021, paints portraits that grab the viewer’s attention at first glance.
Asahara combines her love of portraiture with her passion and skill for watercolor. She captures light and the human expression, layering paint and thin washes to create stunning depth of color and captivating dimensionality on the surface of the paper.
Opening reception for “Portraits of the West” on First Thursday, September 2, 6-9 pm, with music from “Old Time” and wine by Indian Creek Winery.
