This workshop helps you take full control of your camera and start developing your photographic style. Perfect for those comfortable with Aperture/Shutter Priority and ready to shoot in full Manual Mode.

Session 1: Manual Mode Mastery
Focus: Exposure Control + Light Management
-Deep dive into shooting in Manual Mode: balancing ISO, aperture, and shutter speed for full control
-Understanding metering modes and how light impacts exposure decisions
-Hands-on exercises using different lighting setups (indoors/outdoors or simulated)
-Practice shooting under/overexposing intentionally and recovering exposure
Take-Home Practice: Shoot in Manual Mode using different lighting scenarios (indoors, golden hour, shadows, etc.)

Session 2: Understanding Lenses & Visual Storytelling
Focus: Lens choice + Depth of Field
-Explore how different focal lengths affect framing, distortion, and storytelling
-Demonstrate effects of prime vs. zoom, wide-angle vs. telephoto
Take-Home Practice: Recreate a scene using different lenses or focal lengths and evaluate emotional/visual impact

Session 3: Composition in Action – Photo Walk + Critique
Focus: Framing, movement, and storytelling
-Introduction to advanced composition techniques: framing, layering, negative space, balance, and visual flow
-Explore dynamic vs. static compositions and how to lead the viewer’s eye
-Guided photo walk downtown or in a nature setting to apply all concepts
-Peer/Instructor critique session to discuss images, choices, and progress
