September begins the harvest season for the perennial potato, and the Idaho State Museum is celebrating with the History Harvest Family Festival! Join us for a variety of programs, activities, and fun for Members only! Educators will delve into our collections to share rare and fascinating artifacts, create a beautiful harvest-themed painting on canvas with our talented staff, and look through a Newtonian Telescope at a live view of the harvest moon*! There will also be a family activity guide to help you roam the Museum after hours! For those with young learners – Boomtown will be open!** General admission will be limited to 50 people per hour. Tickets for painting are limited to 30 youth per hour. Concessions will be available for purchase in Pioneer Village.

*Observation of the moon is dependent upon weather and extenuating circumstances.
** Please note: To be compliant with local Public Health Emergency Order 20-10, all Idaho State Historical Society properties, Museums, and buildings within Boise City limits now require the use of masks. Please notify staff if you have an approved exemption. We also highly encourage visitors to practice social distancing when exploring the Museum and Pioneer Village. The Museum will be cleaned and sanitized consistently throughout the evening.
