Hey indie sleaze lovers… acclaimed Rochester indie rock trio Joywave are back to bring their signature brand of “indietronica” to the Hall. Their fifth full-length album, Permanent Pleasure, was released on May 17, 2024. Stepping outside of their sonic comfort zone, this project sees the band lean into a real orchestra rather than their usual virtual instruments and explore themes of existentialism, relationships and self-awareness. The album brings the band to new heights without sacrificing their DIY work ethic that makes their art so authentic. OG fans will recognize this ‘new’ vibe as they hearken back to the early days and their unique artistic liberation.
