The romantic image of farm to table has long captured our imaginations—fresh produce, local hands, a direct line from field to fork. But what happens when that narrative no longer reflects the reality of our food systems?

Farm to Fable is a live conversation between cross industry experts that pulls back the curtain on the forces reshaping the future of farming in Idaho and beyond. From regulations that lock small producers out of mainstream markets, the consolidation of grocery giants creating closed-loop systems, to skyrocketing land costs and the looming loss of agricultural space to urban and real estate development—this conversation digs into the uncomfortable truths beneath our plates.

Our panel features a fourth-generation produce distributor navigating the increasingly narrow pathways between farm and institution. A small-scale organic farmer who challenges us to choose local over labels and warns of a system tilted in favor of Big Ag. And a real estate and land-use advocate who’s seen firsthand how farmland is disappearing acre by acre to subdivisions and speculation.

Together, we’ll explore what it really means to support sustainable food systems. At the Do Good Conversation Series, we’re not here to just talk—we’re here to spark action. Join us for Farm to Fable as we shine a light on the challenges facing the future of food and share real, immediate steps you can take to make a difference.
Pull up a chair, bring your curiosity, and be part of the conversation.
