Boise artist Danica Factor invites the community to celebrate the spirit of the disco era through her newest solo exhibition, Discothèque, on view August 3 – 29, 2026 at Art Source Gallery in downtown Boise. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, August 6, from 5:00–9:00 p.m., featuring complimentary food, music, and a hands-on art activity. The reception is free and open to the public. More than a celebration of glitter and dance floors, Discothèque explores one of the most transformative periods in American history. Through vibrant color, bold patterns, vintage imagery, and layered mixed-media paintings, Factor honors the late 1960s and early 1970s — a time when the civil rights movement, women's liberation movement, and gay rights movement expanded the possibilities of freedom, equality, and belonging.
