Three distinct musical landscapes…

The concert kicks off with Rossini’s Willam Tell Overture – a piece widely recognized as the theme to The Lone Ranger, however, there is more to this work than its famous finale. Transport yourself to the Swiss Alps during an impending storm, the storm in full swing, the calm after the storm, and finally a march of victorious Swiss soldiers.

In his new symphony Altered Landscape, Jimmy López Bellido asks us to consider our relationship with nature, the impact we have on it, and what the future looks like. “ I hope it plants a seed of hope and beauty in all of us,” says the composer. Be among the first to experience his new symphony which we co-commissioned with Reno Philharmonic and New Music USA.

Dvořák’s famous violin concerto draws from a particular time and place – the music of Bohemia and the Czech countryside where Dvořák grew up. Close your eyes and you can hear the expansive rolling hills, tranquil sunsets, and spirited folk dances. We bring this vibrant landscape to life with Concertmaster Brendan Shea – don’t miss it!
