City Council Election
The 2021 City election will be held on November 2 for the City Council Seats for District 1, 3 and 5.
The upcoming 2021 election, will be using the new geographic districts that were established earlier this year. Seats will be for two-year terms instead of the standard four years. Currently, these three seats have incumbents whose terms are expiring this year. This will allow for all council seats to be up for election under a new map in 2023.
LEARN MORE ABOUT COUNCIL DISTRICTS
All positions are nonpartisan. A candidate running for a designated City Council seat shall be elected by the plurality (the greatest number) of votes cast.
Water Renewal Bond
On November 2nd, 2021, eligible voters in Boise will choose how to pay for critical improvements to our water renewal (sewer) system. There are two ways to pay for these improvements:
- Cash funding would require a significant rate increase right away. Ratepayers provide that source of funding through their every-other-month utility bill from the city.
- Issuing a bond would be keep rate increases more affordable and predictable
The funding for improvements only impacts your sewer utility bill, not property taxes.
